Application statuses

Every status an application can be in, and what you should do in each.

Every application has a one-letter status code. You'll see it as status in Get application status and as pt_app_status in postbacks.

Refund after funding

  1. CFunded
  2. TRefunded

The main path is Z → A → S → C: the customer is verified, approved, signs, and you settle after shipping. Funding (C or L) can be followed by a refund (T). These codes describe the application now; they are not a permanent sequence or a substitute for reconciliation.

B appears when an order's total is raised after the customer signed, for example by a partial refund request with a higher loanAmount. PayTomorrow emails the customer updated documents. Once they sign, the application returns to S, or goes straight to C if the original order was already funded. B and E send no postback of their own, so you'll only see them in Get application status and in the response to the call that changed the order.

Which statuses need you

Only three moments need action from your side:

  1. S Ready to Settle. The customer is approved for this order. Ship it, then settle.
  2. U, O, or N. The customer won't be financing this order. Release inventory and offer another payment method.
  3. After funding. If the customer returns the order, refund or partially refund.

Everything else is PayTomorrow, a lender, or the customer doing work. Hold the order and wait for the next postback.

Unknown statuses

Hold the order and contact support if the API returns a code not listed here. Internal workflow states are not instructions to fulfill an order. Never treat an unknown code as approval.
